- Masa (Corn Flour)
- Dried Corn Husks
- Lard
- Dried Chile Arbol
- Dried Chile Guajillo
- Water or Chicken Broth
- Garlic Powder
- Chili Powder for colour
- Salt
- Baking Powder
- Onion
- Oregano
You will also need the following.
- The meat filling of your choice. Chicken, beef, pork or vegetarian substitutes.
- Or you can also use cheese and jalepeno slices for filling or soy substitutes.
- A big mixing bowl.
- A steamer.

Tamale Recipe
In the video below, Kyong Weathersby shows us how to make Mexican Tamale. The recipe is purely vegan and therefore contains no harmful substances or ingredients. The following is the recipe for the the Mexican tamales presented by Kyong Weathersby of Taste of Heaven Ministries.
FILLING:
2 c. walnut gluten, ground
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
sea salt to taste
MASA DOUGH:
1 c. cornmeal
1 c. unbleached white flour
1 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/3 c. canola oil
1 c. vegetable broth or soy milk

Preparation of Mexican Tamales as presented in the video below.
1. Prepare corn husks according to package directions.
2. In a medium bowl, combine all filling ingredients and mix. In a separate bowl, Mix all ingredients for the masa dough.
3. To prepare tamales, spread the masa dough evenly over prepared corn husks. Place 1 tablespoon filling in the center of each. Roll up and place in a steamer. Cover and steam for 30 minutes.
Tamales freeze well. Very delicious!
